Sam Webb: Have you gotten any more scholarships since Michigan offered you?
Sam Webb: How has the season been going for you so far?
Christopher Fox: “I’ve been doing pretty good. We’re doing alright I guess. We had a couple of tough losses, but for the most part we’re doing pretty good. I’ve had a pretty good season I think.”
Sam Webb: I know you play both ways. Have you been more successful on one side of the ball than the other?
Christopher Fox: “I start on offense. I play quite a bit on defense, but offense is definitely my primary position.”
Sam Webb: At this point what are you up height and weight wise?
Christopher Fox: “I’m right around 6’6”, 290.”
Sam Webb: As far as position was concerned, I know Michigan was working you out at different offensive line positions. Where do you play for your high school team?
Christopher Fox: “I’m a tackle in high school.”
Sam Webb: Is that where these schools are recruiting you for or are they just saying they’ll figure it once you get there?
Christopher Fox: “I don’t know what I’ll play in college, somewhere on the O-line. I don’t know if it’ll be guard, center, tackle. I don’t know yet.”
Sam Webb: I know you said you have the two offers, but I imagine a lot more schools have been by your high school. Can you recall off the top of your head all the schools that have been by to check you out?
Christopher Fox: “No. It would be quite a few.”
Sam Webb: Was Michigan one of the schools that made it by?
Christopher Fox: “Yeah Michigan came in. It was the tight end coach I think. He was here a couple of weeks ago I think.”
Sam Webb: Do you get the feeling that any other schools are on the verge of offering you?
Christopher Fox: “I don’t really know. They all invite me to go to their game and I just haven’t had the time to go up there. Once my season is done, I’ll probably take visits to places and see what happens there.”
Sam Webb: What has your contact with Michigan been like since the camp?
Christopher Fox: “I talk to them on Facebook quite a bit and I talked to Coach Funk a few times over the phone.”
Sam Webb: With your recruiting not having changed very much since the summer are you content enough to get you your decision over by the spring or are you going to take things slow?
Christopher Fox: “I’ll probably want to decide before spring. Like I said, once my season is over, I’m going to start really trying to figure it out.”
Sam Webb: Have you been able to watch much college football? Have you seen much of Colorado or Michigan this season?
Christopher Fox: “I’ve watched them, mainly Michigan and Colorado. Colorado, they are definitely struggling… a lot. With Michigan, they’re doing real good other than that Michigan State game. I was bummed when that happened.”
Sam Webb: What are your thoughts now that you’ve had a chance to digest your time at Michigan? I think when we had talked before you had just gotten home. Also with Colorado the local school… what do you of those programs at this point?
Christopher Fox: “Colorado – I love the campus. I love all of the coaches is up there. It is a good place to be and is close to home. It is pretty cool up there and I have a bunch of friends that go up there too. But Michigan is just incredible. The stadium… the Big House and all that… the facilities are incredible. I love all of coaches up there too. I definitely love Coach Funk and Coach Hoke… I talk to them the most. I have a ton of family that lives in Michigan too so that’s a plus. It is a couple hours away from Ann Arbor. It is really nice up there. I like it.”
Sam Webb: You have the familiarity with Colorado, the proximity to home, and a lot of friends that go there. Do you think in the final analysis that that is going to play a big role in your decision?
Christopher Fox: “Not really, I don’t think so. I want to go college wherever I fit in best with the players there and the coaches… somewhere I really like. I’ll make new friends. I can pretty much go wherever I want and be successful I hope.”
Question: What are you looking for? Let us say for the sake of argument that you are getting ready to sit down and make your decision, what are going to be the biggest factors in that choice? I know you said fit and where you fit in best, but what kind of determines that for you?
Christopher Fox: “Just chemistry with the other players on the team. I want to talk to the players and see how they like it there and why they chose to go there. Also the coaches. I don’t want to go to a college where I haven’t seen the coach. I want to go to practice and stuff and see how they actually coach on the field. There are a ton of factors that go into it.”
