Funchess Talks Nebraska, Ohio, a Recruit...

The Wolverine in-state commit took in yet another Michigan game. He caught up with GoBlueWolverine to talk the Nebraska game, the NEXT game, how he sees himself fitting in the U-M offense ... and a big time visitor he chatted with.

Devin Funchess has been a regular on the Michigan sidelines this year, and was yet again present for the Wolverines trouncing of Nebraska.

"I mean, it was clicking all over yesterday," Funchess told GoBlueWolverine. "It was there on defense, Denard did good in the passing game, the defense did a phenomenal job except for a couple plays and they really beat Nebraska."

The offense put on a show with both Denard Robinson and Fitz Touissant having big days, and Funchess envisions himself coming in and making an impact as a freshman.

"I think I can come in and be in there with my athleticism, I can catch the ball and be in open space and get yards after the catch. I just want to try and make the team better. I've got to continue to work hard this offseason and try and gain weight and get bigger. I need to keep my speed and get up there and practice."

The big recruiting news of the weekend was the presence of five star running back Bri'onte Dunn, who is currently committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

"I was talking to him in the beginning before we came on the field and seeing how he was and getting to know him better, because I've only seen him one time before that, at the cookout. He's a pretty cool dude. Not just me, but the whole team would love to have him because of the running back he is and we could have a future with Bri'onte and Dymonte and we need to get closer and closer to getting him."

While he doesn't have a gut feel on Dunn, Funchess thinks the switch can be pulled.

"Not really, but, I think he's looking towards Michigan and Ohio State, but as time goes more and more we can get him to switch it up and come to the Maize and Blue."

Funchess will be present for The Game on Saturday, and he too has an idea of how the scoreboard will appear as the clock strikes zero.

"Yeah, I'm going to be there. As a team out there, they've got to come out with the same fire and beat Ohio, so if they continue to work hard it's easier for us to get commits to come because of the success they see. I see us winning 35-17."
