Michigan an Easy Choice for Hill

Detroit Crockett's Khalid Hill talks about his decision to commit to Michigan today

Khalid Hill is the third Michigan commitment in the class of 2013, making his decision today shortly after being offered by the Wolverines and fresh off that commitment, the high remains.

"I feel great," he said. "There's a smile on my face. I'm cheesin'."

Hill, a 6'2, 230-lb H-Back, says he thought he was just coming up to see the school today, and didn't expect it to go quite the way it did.

"I thought today was going to be a day meet me, see me, see how looked in person, give me a tour. That's what I thought today was about, just to be there, that's what I thought today was."

His expectations of an offer were so non-existent, that he was in disbelief when he heard the faithful words.

"I was in a meeting with Brady Hoke, talking about stuff, and he said, 'you know you have a full ride scholarship to Michigan.' I was like 'huh what'd you just say?' I started smiling. It was great."

Hill says it did not take even a second thought and committed to the Wolverines, fulfilling a dream he's had for some time.

"I've been a Michigan fan for awhile. As a kid, I'd do my projects about Michigan and everything."

His new team, the Wolverines, and his 7 on 7 team, which features future Wolverines Shane Morris, Dennis Norfleet, and others, were equally excited.

"[The Michigan coaches] were so ecstatic and happy. They were like, whoa really? They're happy for me. Brady Hoke gave me a big hug. I just got off the phone with Shane a couple minutes ago. He's going crazy right now."

Hill's mom and head coach Rod Oden also came along on the trip, and Mom now knows all of her son's hard work has paid off.

"She's ecstatic right now, smiling, and now she knows she's got a favorite college and I'm going for free. She's happy for me."

Hill, a 4.0 student at Crockett will major in Engineering."
