Football Rec. Phase Three: Summer Camp

The May Evaluation Period for football recruiting is over now. Does that mean U-M recruiting takes a holiday? Noooo, far from it. Next up, this very next week, is the Michigan Summer Camp, traditionally the source of the majority of every Michigan Recruiting Class. He is a preliminary list of 50 top prospects planning to camp in the mild mid-June Ann Arbor weather, including a great group from a 'usually-slim-pickins' position.

Phase One of Michigan football recruiting is the winter/spring period, when U-M sends mailings to prospects, some of whom in turn make unofficial visits to to U-M watch basketball games or a U-M Spring Practice. Phase Two is the late-April/May evaluation period, when college coaches are allowed to visit high schools in order to talk to high school coaches and watch prospects work out (either in person or on film). Phase Three: The Michigan Summer Camp.

Note: this preliminary camp list is strictly unofficial, collected by us from kids who have said they plan to attend. The "great group from a 'usually-slim-pickins' position:" Defensive Linemen! By the way, actual attendance at the Michigan Summer Camp totals over 1,000 high schoolers.
