Michigan has received commit #10 - Jake Butt!

Commit #10! Pickerington North TE Jake Butt tweets, "Officially a Wolverine!" And he tells Scout.com, "After sleeping on it and still having those same thoughts toward Michigan, I wanted to make my decision." Read on.

He told Scout.com's Benjamin Worgull

"I just had a great experience and it really put Michigan … just … lengths above everybody," Butt told Fox Sports. "It was such a great experience. The one-on-one attention they gave me was great. It made me very excited about them.

"I slept on it last night and I thought I might wake up in the morning being very optimistic about things. After sleeping on it and still having those same thoughts toward Michigan, I wanted to make my decision."

The 6-6, 200-pound Butt is the tenth prospect to commit to Michigan. Sitting back and watching all of the talented players around him commit Saturday, Butt said the Michigan recruiting board revealed that the Wolverines wanted to take two more tight ends and a running back to join the three linemen that committed Saturday and four-star quarterback Shane Morris who committed in May.

He wanted to make sure he got one of those spots.

"By the time I get there, I know they are going to go back to a pro-style offense with Shane Morris there," said Butt. "That made me even more excited."

Butt named a top five in early February of Michigan, Stanford, Northwestern, Maryland and Tennessee from his 18-plus offers, but added Wisconsin into the mix after new wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni extended him an offer two days before he left for Michigan.

"It definitely meant a lot to get that offer," said Butt of Wisconsin. "I had been talking to the tight end coach (Joe Rudolph), but then he went to Pitt. I was expecting an offer from them, but I lost communication with the coaches for a long time."

That appeared to cost Wisconsin, especially since the Wolverines had been recruiting Butt consistently since they offered him last November.

"Michigan was by far the leader for a long time," said Butt.
