Lake Orion Kids Return Home From Camp

LB/FB Roger Allison and DL/OL Will Johnson from Lake Orion, Mich. returned home from the U-M camp this (Tues.) evening. I talked to both tonight: how did things go?

First I reached the outstanding DL/OL prospect Will Johnson (U-M Nike stats: 6-4.5, 278 lbs, 4.71 (electronic!) in the 40, 30 bench press reps., 27.9 inch vertical, 4.56 sec. Shuttle … 425 lb. Bench press 3.8 GPA/qualified).

You left camp this afternoon?

"Yes, that was the plan. I worked out this morning, then met with Coach Carr before I left."

So, how did the meeting go?

"Coach Carr talked to me, and offered me a scholarship."

What is next for you?

"I plan to go to the Michigan State and Ohio State camps this month."

When will you make your decision?

"I'll decide around the first of July."

Do you have a leader?

Note: Will added: "I ran a 4.71 in the 40 at camp!" (Note: that is an electronically timed 40!).

Later I received a call from the tough and versitile LB/FB Roger Allison (U-M Nike stats: 6-1 1/2, 229 lbs., 27 bench press reps.)

Will (Johnson) told me you and he went home this afternoon. Did Coach Carr meet with you first?

"Yes, he met with me. He offered me a scholarship!"

So, what is next for you? Will said he was going to the MSU and OSU camps.

"I might go to a couple more camps. Will and I have been talking about what to do."

Do you have a leader?

Note: Roger added: "I worked out both at fullback and linebacker at camp."
