Jamar Adams, Ryan Baker, Kyle Mitchum

I reached the homes of three Michigan Campers today: NC DB Jamar Adams, Ind. DE Ryan Baker, and Pa. OL Kyle Mitchum. Here is the latest on each of them.

1. Jamar Adams (2003 U-M Camper, 2001 U-M Camper, V-Tech Nike stats: 6-2 1/2,193 lbs., 4.13 sec. Shuttle, 33.2 inch vertical jump … 3.2 GPA/940 SAT) from Matthews, N.C., Butler.

"I talked to my mother. She wants me to think about things, and to put God first and be guided by Him."

So what is next for you?

[pause] "Well ... I'm going to take some official visits. I really like Michigan though."

2. The father of Ryan Baker (2003 U-M Camper, 6-5, 235 lbs., 4.9 in the 40, 3.5 GPA) from Indianapolis, Ind., Bishop Chatard.

"We went up to the Michigan Camp Tuesday. Ryan and his mom and I, and a teammate, Derek DiSalvo, and his dad."

"The importance of this trip focused on Ryan's mom. Michigan could not have made a better impression academically on Ryan's mom."

"Ryan is very focused on Michigan ... U-M remains floating at the top of his schools ... all I can say is Michigan will be there on decision day."

"Ryan's other camps are: Purdue the 14th, Illinois the 15th, not Tennessee, 4 days in Anderson, then BC, and then he plans on Notre Dame for their last session the 29th."

"We are coming to understand that with football AND basketball (Ryan plays both, and Bishop Chatard was state champs in both in its class last year), trying to get official visits in is bleak. The best scenario would be for Ryan to commit before Sept. There is a possibility that would happen. That would be the most productive. Will he get enough info to do that? That's up to him. If he's in a position to do that, he will."

3. The mother of Kyle Mitchum (6-5, 260 lbs., 5.0 in the 40) from Erie, Pa., McDonald.

"I talked to Kyle talked briefly after he camped at Michigan Monday. He enjoyed it. He visited with Coach Carr I believe. He's with with coach, and they are going on to West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and NC-State."
