Oh. DE Mike Massey Updates Us

I talked to Michael Massey from Cleveland St. Ignatius (brother of U-M defensive end Pat Massey). He filled me in on his U-M Camp experience, and his favortites.

I asked Michael Massey (6-5, 235 lbs.) the following:

Mike, you attended the Michigan Summer Camp?

"Yes, I went for one day, Tuesday. It went well I think. I went through drills at defensive end. And I ran a pretty good 40 time, 4.82 (electronically timed)."

Did you talk to the coaches? How did that go?

"I talked to Coach Carr and Coach Sheridan (U-M's defensive line coach) for a while. Hopefully I impressed them. Coach Carr said they would wait until the season to see me in action and decide whether to offer me a scholarship."

Have you attended any other summer camps?

"I went to Ohio State's senior camp for a day. They offered me a scholarship. That's it."

Are you taking any summer unofficial visits?

"No, not in the summer. I made a few visits in the spring you know (including to U-M for the final spring scrimmage, and to Pitt for a spring practice)."

Do you have a list of favorites?

"It's pretty much Ohio State, Michigan, and Pitt. OSU and Pitt have offered."

How is Pat doing these days?

"Great. He's in Ann Arbor for the summer. Pat is quite a bit bigger now. He still doesn't have any fat though. All the new weight is muscle."

Massey, who as a junior made 81 tackles and nine sacks, is TheInsiders.com's #53 Midwest prospect.
