York talks about his game, speed, and more

Chandler Park Academy wide receiver Csont'e York was in attendance at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp this week. GBW caught up with the Michigan commit as he talked about his game, his meeting with coach Al Borges, his increased speed, what he'll be working on this summer, and more.

Michigan commit Csont'e York profile .

GBW: Talk about today's performance and what you we're working on?

York: "Yeah I just tried to come out and get a little separation from the corner. Because they were playing a little deep. So I did short routes, corners, whips, outs. You know if they tried to jam me, I would go for the fly, post corner, post, and get a little separation, that's it."

GBW: You had a few drops out there, but besides that how would you evaluate your day?

York: "It was pretty good, but I could have done better though."

GBW: I saw you chatting it up with your future offensive Coordinator Al Borges. What was the interaction like with your future coach?

York: "I think he is a real good coach. I see myself being there with him coaching me. He was saying I did real good. You know I got the hands and everything they need at Michigan. I'll be up there to work with him on Sunday."

GBW: What have you been doing lately to increase your speed? And what are you running the forty at currently?

York: "Right now I run a 4.57. But at my school Chandler Park Academy, we have a speed and conditioning coach. And he has been really good to us. We do a lot of speed workouts with the ladder, and run up and down the field constantly. He works on our legs. He is a real good coach. He is improving everything."

GBW: What are some things you will be working on throughout the summer as a pass catcher?

York: "I'm trying to get corners not to touch me. To get off the jam. I'm alright, but I am stepping back too much. I just need to go forward and get their hands off of me."

GBW: What's next up for you on your summer circuit?

York: "My school, we have a 7-on-7 tournament this Saturday at Bowling Green. And Monday we got the Toledo tournament."

Here is an excerpt of GoBlueWolverine's evaluation of York's performance on Wednesday:

Csont'e York was a late arrival to the event Wednesday. York was able to participate in the second half of the day's festivities. At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, York is a very elusive wide receiver. He has a good skill set, and is able to use his body to shed defenders to make a catch. He has an arsenal of moves, and was able to create separation when he wanted to. York's major issue was a case of the drops. He would do everything perfect on the route, but a few times he didn't catch the ball. So he needs to work on his focus, but other than that he had a good day.
