41-14. Second Half Drives, Stats.

U-M got outscored 10-7 in the second half as Bama ground it out and ate up clock. Here are the Drives, Stats.

THIRD QUARTER

Michigan #1

Dennis Norfleet took the kickoff to the U-M 22.

After a false start, on 2nd and 13, Denard hit Drew Dileo for 20 to the U-M 40.

There the drive stalled at the 12:22 mark.

Alabama #1

Bama took the ball at their 20.

On the first play, Bama took a screen to the U-M 48.

Two plays later Yeldon ran it to the U-M 38.

On the next play William Campbell sacked McCarron at the Bama 46 ... and the drive stalled at the U-M 35. Bama missed a field goal

Michigan #2

Starting at the U-M 35, U-M ran twice to the U-M 45.

Denard ran for a 1st down on 4th down at the Bama 45 (hurting his back), just short of the 1st down at the 4:25 mark.

Alabama #2

On the 1st play, Yeldon ran to the U-M 41.

The drive stalled at the U-M 34, and Bama hit a 51 yard field goal at the 2:35 mark.

Alabama 34, Michigan 7

Michigan #3

Norfleet took the kickoff to the U-M 12.

On 2nd down a roughing the passer call gave U-M a first down at the U-M 30.

A swing pass to Smith took it to the Bama 48.

Two plays later Denard hit Devin for the TD at the :14 mark.

Alabama #3

Bama took the kickoff at the Bama 25.

Third Quarter Stats
Michigan gained 238 yards, 75 running, 163 passing ... and has the 2 ints.
Bama gained 353 yards, 183 running, 170 passing... and has the fumble.

FOURTH QUARTER

Two runs took Bama to the U-M 49.

Two more runs took it to the U-M 37.

There the drive stalled.

Michigan #4

Gallon fair-catched the punt at the U-M 7 at the 12:18 mark.

On 2nd down Denard hit Gallon at the U-M 26.

There the drive stalled at the 10:09 mark.

Alabama #4

Bama took the punt at the Bama, with a U-M penalty, to the Bama 43.

On the first play a pass took it to the U-M 38.

On the next play Bama ran it to the U-M 27.

On 3rd down a pass interference call took it to the U-M 7.

Two plays later Bama ran it in at the 5:40 mark.

Alabama 41, Michigan 14

Norfleet ran it to the U-M 35.

On the first play Denard hit Roy Roundtree twice to the U-M 47.

Two plays later Taylor Lewan went out limping, and on the next play Denard was sacked and the drive stalled at the 3:50 mark.

Final Stats
Michigan gained 268 yards, 68 running, 200 passing ... and had the 3 ints.
Bama gained 428 yards, 229 running, 199 passing... and had the fumble.
Denard had just 11 carries for 26 yards. Passing he was 11-26 for 200 yards and a TD, 2 ints.
