GBW: You had a nice 40-yard run earlier in the first half. Talk me through that play.
Romello Ross: "The play—I ran into a blocker. After that I just looked to my right and it was just open. I just read it."
GBW: Is that the type of player you see yourself as? A running back with vision that can make cutbacks?
Romello Ross: "Yeah at times. Other times when the weather start getting like this, you can't keep going east and west. You just got to put your shoulder down and just go forward."
GBW: Talk about your season thus far.
Romello Ross: "I've been trying to give it my all every game. Some games we come up short—others we don't."
GBW: So would you consider yourself a speed back or power runner? What kind of back to do you see yourself as?
Romello Ross: "I would think it's balanced. I don't have a problem with going forward, and just getting the three to four yards. But if I could, I want the big runs, you know, the shifty running back."
GBW: you had the opportunity to travel with the Detroit Maximum Exposure 7-on-7 team this past July. How did your experience playing with and against top talent help you going into this season?
Romello Ross: "I just had me step my game up. I'm not the only one out here that wants to do this. I have to keep working, and it just motivated me to keep moving forward."
GBW: You camped at Michigan this past summer. What was your contact with the Michigan coaching staff? What were the coaches telling you?
Romello Ross: "I met coach Fred Jackson and all the rest of the staff and everything. I can't really tell you anything; they really can't start talking to me cause I'm going into the 10th grade."
GBW: Do you have any offer as of right now?
Romello Ross: "No."
GBW: When the offers start to come in, what will you be looking for in a program?
Romello Ross: "I want to look for coaches that I can just be around. That just have good spirits and motivate you to keep going."
GBW: If you were scouting yourself in the stands, what would you say about yourself?
Romello Ross: "He really doesn't want to be tackled. He wants to get those extra yards after contact."
GBW: What is your current height and weight?
Romello Ross: "I am right now 5-foot-10, 170 pounds or 175 pounds."
GBW: When the offers start coming in, when would you like to make your final decision?
Romello Ross: "I want to wait it out and talk to my brothers and the rest of my family about it. Just wait it out and see what's all opening up for me."
