'15 SG Chandler White talks Michigan visit

2015 Carroll (IN) High School shooting guard Chandler White is already a familiar name to Michigan basketball fans. White made it up to Ann Arbor once again this past Saturday for the Wolverines football game with Illinois and to check out a basketball practice.

The most polished, all-around player on the floor for his age group at the Michigan basketball individual camp over the summer, 2015 Carroll (IN) High School shooting guard Chandler White was back in Ann Arbor over the weekend taking in the football team's 45-0 victory over Illinois.

With basketball practice now officially underway, White was also privy to an up close and personal view of the pre-season #5 ranked team in the nation.

"We got there about 9:15 maybe," White told GoBlueWolverine. "They picked us up and took us to practice at Crisler Arena. We watched practice, and then from there we went and tailgated with the team and went to the game."

White absorbed some one on one coaching from the Michigan basketball coaches in camp back in June, and saw quite a few similarities in what he learned and what was being worked on at Crisler Saturday morning.

"It was good," said White. "It was similar to my high school practice. A lot of the stuff that they did in practice they did with us at camp too. Tim Hardaway and Trey Burke looked really good, like they did last year. The new freshman that came in that really impressed me was Glenn Robinson."

"I think my favorite part was getting to watch practice, and see how they worked out and seeing how they ran things," said White. "But overall it was nice to go up there."

Three men who know a thing or two about developing and maintaining positive relationships with prospective student-athletes are Michigan basketball assistant coaches Bacari Alexander, lavall jordan and Jeff Meyer. White's visit Saturday was much of the same as the comfort level rises between he and the entire coaching staff for the Wolverines.

"All the coaches love me," said White. "They like to talk a lot and they get along with the recruits."

White, who currently holds an offer from Boston College, has another big visit lined up this weekend with a team that joins the Wolverines in the preseason top 5 out of the Big Ten.

"I'm going to Hoosier hysteria on Saturday, and then we're going to try to make it to Boston College at the end of fall," said White.

Although White has been busy taking visits this fall, high school basketball season is right around the corner and Carroll has been hard at work in preparation for it.

"Our team's been working out," said White. "All of our workouts have been going really good. On Tuesdays our team (scrimmages) are really competitive against each other."

Wolverine fans can expect White to be back up in Ann Arbor for a basketball game this winter.
