Gelen Robinson likes the environment at U-M

2014 DE/LB Gelen Robinson out of Lake Central Indiana enjoyed his time at Michigan last Saturday. The Junior talks to GBW about his time spent in Ann Arbor as well as his recruitment.

Gelen Robinson had seen Ann Arbor before with a relative-- and he camped this past June -- but this visit was all about his recruiting process.

"I had come up to Michigan before with my brother (Glenn Robinson-freshmen basketball player for Michigan) and had a great time. Making the trip up here now was for myself and football."

The Michigan football staff invited him up for a game, and this opportunity was one that he thoroughly enjoyed.

"It was nice being down here on game day -- the environment here is great. The vibe on campus is amazing. It is hard to find a school with such great support from everyone in the community."

Gelen needs to do a few things to help himself at the defensive line position, and he has a clear idea of how to get there. The coaches are interested enough that they will keep an eye on him.

"They are looking at me more at the defensive end position, but that all depends on my size and if I grow any more into the spot. I feel comfortable at both (DL or OLB) positions and they come natural to me. I talked with Coach Montgomery, and he said to keep in contact with him. Overall it was a nice experience at Michigan."

Although he has no offers at this time for Gelen, there are other schools that are interested in him as well. Illinois, Purdue, and others are still evaluating him as they find out if linebacker or defensive end is the best place for him.
