A point guard already receiving serious recruiting attention as a sophomore is 6-foot-2, 175-pound Corona (Calif.) Centennial point guard Sedrick Barefield.
The 2015 prospect already holds offers from Memphis, Kansas State, Connecticut and Boston College with interest from Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Michigan, USC, UCLA, Arizona and Harvard.

While Barefield says he's working on his game and not focused on recruiting right now, he has paid attention to some of the schools that have offered.

"I like how Derrick Rose played at Memphis and they have really good guards that they let go," Barefield said.

"I like UConn's guards too and the system, how they get up and down. I also like Kansas State's system a lot and how they run the offense."

All four offers come from East Coast programs and drifting away from the west for college is something Barefield is open to.

"I like how East Coast schools play but I'll go wherever is best, whether that's here or out there, but I'm open to everywhere," he said.

"I'll be looking at education, system and guard development; how players get better there."

For now, Barefield's main objective is to continue to grow as a player, something he feels he's doing.

"I think I improved on my athleticism and my shot, I think it's a lot more consistent now," Barefield said. "I'm happy with my ball handling, my basketball IQ and knocking down open shots. I get my teammates involved."

"I'm just trying to get better. I'm working on my game every day to get better."
