Dallas Bishop Dunne junior offensive tackle Jovan Pruitt is quickly becoming one of the most sought after prospects in Texas.
And it is easy to see why, as Pruitt fits the mold of a prototypical left tackle at 6-foot-6, 270-pounds, and has already generated offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Colorado State.
But the recruiting efforts don't stop there for the rising three-star prospect, as Michigan has recently showed interest in the prized Lone Star state recruit and Scout.com's No. 22 ranked offensive tackle.
After all, the Wolverines are already recruiting his teammate Nick Watkins, who is rated a four-star prospect and No.5 cornerback in the latest Scout.com player rankings. So with Michigan's recruitment of Watkins, Pruitt said he is eager to get familiar with the Maize and Blue.
"I like Michigan ‘cause of the rivalries they have in the Big Ten Conference with Ohio State, Michigan State, plus sometimes Notre Dame," Pruitt told GoBlueWolverine. "So I like those rivalries. I like their academics, too."
While Pruitt doesn't have a set visit to Ann Arbor, Mich., he did say there will be specific elements he will be looking for on a possible visit to campus.
"It depends on how I feel about the environment at Michigan," Pruitt said on what he'll be looking for on his visit. "Also, how much I like the campus. Can I see the stability in things in the environment. That's all I am really looking for."
With Michigan being over 2,000 miles away, Pruitt said distance is something he is looking into, but hasn't made up his mind yet.
Despite Bishop Dunne's disappointing 4-7 record last season, Pruitt says he was able to play with "physicality" throughout his junior campaign.
"I played as a leader. I made big plays on offense," Pruitt said on his play last season. "On defense, I made big stops and stuff. I say I'm balanced. I can block for pass or run. Physicality is a must when I'm on the field."
As far as a decision timetable, Pruitt says he is in no rush to make his final choice and will look into all his options.
"I'm going to look at all my options. I'm going to play it out and see how it goes."
