At 6-0, 175 pounds, and possessing game breaking speed, 2014 Cleveland Glenville (Ohio) wide receiver/cornerback Marshon Lattimore could play either side of the ball in college for a number of programs across the nation. While Lattimore isn't sure which college he'll choose, he is certain what position he'd like to play.
"I think DB," Lattimore told GoBlueWolverine. "I just love defense. I love being competitive on defense and that's it."
Competing at both wide receiver and cornerback at the Best of the Midwest Combine Monday morning, Lattimore's ability stood out among a talented group of competitors, displaying smoothness to his game that can't be taught. After a productive couple of hours performing, Lattimore walked away as the defensive back MVP.
"This camp was fun to me -- I had a good time," said Lattimore. "Me and all my teammates, we came to make a statement and I guess we did."
Lattimore, holding 15 offers, has had several schools drop by Cleveland Glenville to meet with his football coach, Ted Ginn Sr. One of those schools is Michigan, with defensive coordinator Greg Mattison becoming a regular fixture.
"They've been stopping by my school just, say hit to me, me and Erick Smith," said Lattimore. "They really can't talk to us though.
I don't know too much about Michigan but in the future I'd like to get to know them better."
Of Mattison, Lattimore added, "he's a good dude."
Having already missed out on a few junior day visit opportunities, Lattimore plans to get out and visit several schools on his list in the coming months.
"Spring practice (I want to visit) Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan -- I'm trying to get to all the schools," said Lattimore.
Lattimore says he plans on waiting to make a decision per advice from his coach, but when the time comes to make an announcement, the Cleveland product knows exactly what he's looking for in his future college team.
"Just everybody is one, like brothers -- like a family," said Lattimore. "I love that. My choice would be the school that's like a family."
