Michigan, Virginia Tech to play in 2020-21

Michigan and Virginia Tech are scheduled for a home and home series in 2020-21, the schools announced Thursday.

Michigan and Virginia Tech have announced their plans for a non-conference home and home series with one another for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, in a release sent out Thursday afternoon.

Michigan will play host to the Hokies on September 19, 2020 and Virginia Tech will welcome the Wolverines to Blacksburg on September 11, 2021.

This will be the first regular season meeting between the two schools and only the second meeting ever after Michigan beat Virginia Tech, 23-20, in the 2012 Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Michigan's non-conference scheduling continues to ramp up, alread having deals in place with Cincinnati, with the Bearcats making their way to the big house on September 19, 2017, as well as a home and home series with Arkansas to kick off the 2018-19 seasons.

Michigan's non-conference schedule in 2013 includes home games the first three weeks of the season as Central Michigan, Notre Dame, and Akron make their way to Ann Arbor, followed by a road tilt with Connecticut to finish up that home and home series that began when the Huskies played at Michigan Stadium in 2010.
