Woodbridge (Va.) 2014 DE, Da'Shawn Hand—Scout's No. 1 defensive player didn't disappoint last Sunday at the Columbus NFTC. A rare mix of power and speed, Hand talked highly of the Wolverines, especially about defensive coordinator Greg Mattison. Michigan is in his final group, but it looks like Va. Tech is the early leader in the clubhouse. He says he is open to visit for the BBQ in July, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Warren G. Harding (Ohio) 2015 DE/DT, Hjalte Froholdt—A native of Denmark, Froholdt has received five offers as of last weekend. He holds significant offers from Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State, already. At 6-foot-5, 265-pounds, Froholdt is as strong as they come and is still learning how to play football. He says academics are huge in his recruitment. More offers are sure to follow and he says he doesn't have summer visits planned right now.
Stonewall Jackson (Va.) 2015 DT, Tim Settle—A workout buddy with Hand, Settle has 10 offers early on in his recruitment. While the Maize & Blue have yet to offer Settle, he said he would open to an offer if extended. He admits he doesn't know too much about Michigan, but said he would do his research, again, if they offered. It might be an uphill battle with Settle, but that all can change once he hears from Mattison.
St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N. J.) 2014 RB, Jonathan Hilliman—The Garden state standout announced his top-six schools earlier this week and Michigan made the cut. He said U-M was one of the first schools to offer him and really "loves" the coaching staff. He said he plans on visiting for the BBQ in July. He is good friends with recent Michigan commit, Jabrill Peppers. As of right now, he says he wants to take all his visits and plans a late decision.
Portage Northern (Mich.) 2014 OT, Austin Labus—A legit 6-foot-6, 285-pounds, Labus has two MAC offers right now. He's camping at Cincinnati this weekend and is hearing from MSU. He is interested in Michigan, but also know he might not get an offer. Has been on Michigan's campus before for two home games last season.
Westerville South (Ohio) 2015 OT, Rob Dowdy—Dowdy says he planning on visiting Arkansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee coming up. He has been on Michigan's campus twice already and said he really liked his visits both times. He says he has already connected with coach Darrell Funk and has good relationship so far. Right now he doesn't have a U-M offer, but one might come down the road.
