Lewan on Four Preseason Watch Lists

Michigan fifth-year senior left tackle is up for the Walter Camp, Maxwell, Outland, and Lombardi awards.

Taylor Lewan has started 35 games in his standout career, including 28 consecutive.  If his final season in a Michigan uniform goes according to plan  he could add a lot more hardware to his trophy case later this year. The 2012 All-American and Big Ten Rimington-Pace Offensive lineman of the year has been named to four preseason watch lists.

The Walter Camp Award, which goes to the national player of the year, will narrow its watch-list from 50 down to 10 semifinalists in mid-November.  It is voted upon by the 125 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.  The victor will be announced live on ESPN Sports Center on Thursday, December 12.

The 77th Maxwell award goes to the nation's most outstanding football player. Its watch-list will narrow to a list of semifinalists on October 29th before dwindling down to three finalists on November 18th. The victor will also be announced on the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show.

The Outland Trophy is goes to the nation's most outstanding interior lineman as voted upon by the Football Writers Association of America.  The victor will be selected from three finalists that are part of the Football Writers Association of America All America Team and will be announced on The Home Depot College Football Awards show.

The Rotary Lombardi Award, which goes to the nation's top down lineman or linebacker will be announced during a ceremony on December 11th  at the Wortham Center in Houston, Texas.
