Devin Funchess burst onto the scene in Ann Arbor last year, hauling in 15 receptions for 234 yards and five touchdowns. His top performance came in a 31-25 victory over Air Force in week two. Funchess' four reception, 106-yard, one-touchdown performance earned him Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. He also became the ninth Michigan freshman to register a 100-yard receiving game and the first Michigan tight to go over 100yards since Jerame Tuman in 1997.
At season's end the former Farmington Hills Harrison star was named a freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
