Where do you think you have improved?
Gardner: "Just footwork and the things I worked on. … Just footwork and making good passes."
You threw a couple interceptions early, but looked like a different guy in the second half:
Gardner: "I feel like I did a really good job in the locker room and with poise leading my team."
Did you feel a little more beat up after the Penn State game than other games?
Gardner: "I am actually pretty beat up after every game. So it's pretty much the same. I feel if you're not beat up after a game – you probably didn't play that hard."
On thoughts on having to run since there was a lack of run game with the running backs at PSU:
Gardner: "I pretty much knew what would have to happen. We weren't getting many yards on first down. We weren't running the ball well. Like I always say, ‘If we need me to run, that's fine I'll do it.' If we don't, like we did a few weeks ago, we won't. We don't know what's going to happen this week. But we moved on to Indiana and we're going to see how it goes."
On making run/pass option plays with against PSU:
Gardner: "I mean, I feel like that's what they gave me. That's what I wanted to do, I wanted to do what the defense gave me. That was the things they gave me some occasions."
Is there a different mood at all in practice coming off a loss?
Gardner: "It's been really intense like always, like it's always been. Like since the bye week. It's been really intense. We're working hard to get a chance to go against Indiana on Saturday."
