"I really enjoyed my senior year," said Wangler, who is committed to the University of Michigan. "We had a great group of guys. It was honor to be a captain of the team. I just felt like we had a couple bad breaks. We played right with all the best teams in the state. I thought we had a good season."
Wangler separated his shoulder versus Detroit Catholic Central at the end of the season. He says he is currently rehabbing the injury and hopes to be ready for the Under Armour game on Jan. 2, in Tampa, Fla.
"It's exciting and honor to be able to play in the game in January," Wangler said. "I am really excited to be down there to play with some future Michigan players. We got seven of the guys playing the game. So that will be exciting."
Michigan plays rival Ohio State this Saturday at the Big House. An obvious big game for recruiting, Wangler says he and most of the commits should be in attendance for "The Game."
"Almost all the guys are coming up for that visit," Wangler said. "So I am just looking to further my relationship with all the commits. I want to talk to the coaches more. I'm excited to see how Michigan does against Ohio State."
In the meantime, Wangler says he is focused on continuing his training before he enrolls next summer.
"Just working hard this off-season. Just putting on weight and getting ready to play college ball."
