Michigan Still Alive with Ballage

Falcon, CO RB/ATH Kalen Ballage is in the final recruiting stretch, but Michigan may just have a chance to make a final pitch before he reaches the finish line.

Kalen Ballage has been virtually silent about his recruitment in the weeks since committing to Arizona State, but that doesn’t mean his process has stopped.  As a matter of fact it is now picking up in earnest.

“I visit Arizona State this weekend, Washington next weekend, and UCLA after that,” Ballage reported.

That would seemingly round out an official visit schedule that to date consists only of Nebraska.  There won’t be any other open weekends prior to signing day if Ballage sticks to that schedule.  However he would have one official visit left in his allotment. The question is could another of his suitors, namely Michigan, convince him to squeeze in a non-weekend trip?

“(Visiting) is a possibility we talked about,” said Ballage referring to his recent contact with the Maize & Blue. “They are still interested and so am I.”

The Wolverines will determine just how interested when assistant Darrell Funk makes his way out to Colorado Monday.  Once Ballage’s schedule is set in stone it will just be a matter of comparing and contrasting his finalists once his trips conclude.

“(It’ll come down to) some place that I feel comfortable,” he said. “ I gotta feel it.  Chemistry has to be there no matter what.”

“I’ll (announce my final decision) at my school. “
