Hentges says U-M offer is 'Amazing'

Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias High 2015 TE Hale Hentges discusses his Michigan offer, a possible visit to Ann Arbor, decision timeline and more.

Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias High junior tight end Hale Hentges already has notable offers from Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee among others.

Now, you can add Michigan to list of suitors -- as the Wolverines extended a scholarship his way this week.

"It's amazing to receive this offer," Hentges said. "(Michigan) has so much tradition. And I am looking forward to taking a visit."

When exactly will the 2015 four-star TE visit Michigan?

"I don't have a specific time yet," Hentges said on when he'll visit Ann Arbor. "But I would love to see all of the great facilities (at Michigan), and see some of the campus."

At 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, Hentges is rated the No. 5 TE in the latest Scout.com player rankings. He said Michigan's style of play is very "enticing" with how U-M uses its tight ends.

"(Michigan's offense) is very enticing," Hentges said. "I've watched Devin Funchess and Jake Butt, and they are both exciting players. It brings me excitement knowing that they love their tight ends."

Also, the Michigan coaching staff has told Hentges on how they want to use his skill-set in their offense.

"The conversations have been good," Hentges said on his talks with the coaching staff. "They are saying the tight end is a key part of their offense. And I would be featured."

At the moment, Hentges says he has no leader and his recruitment is wide open. And as far as decision timeline, he said he would like to make it during his senior season.

Other notable schools of interest include: Iowa, Iowa State, Ohio State, Nebraska, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Hentges says he has no upcoming visits planned at this time.
