Rasheem Green Appreciative of Michigan Offer

Gardena (Calif.) Serra high has produced some top talent through the years. 2015 DT Rasheem Green is next in line. GoBlueWolverine caught up with the talented youngster recently to discuss his recruitment, his interest in Michigan, and much much more..

"Michigan is a great school," Rasheem Green told GoBlueWolverine. "I like their history. There is nothing bad to say about them. The coaches seem to be pretty cool. I do have interest in Michigan."

Distance certainly would seem to be a hindrance to the Golden State star's familiarity with the Maize & Blue, but the program's rich tradition and Midwestern family ties have have mitigated that effect/.

"When I was younger I always liked history, and Michigan's history is good," he said. "I just want to be able to get to know them better. I felt good about the offer. They are an elite program. And I have relatives out in the Detroit area."

Green has a long list of suitors -- USC, Tennessee, UCLA, Miami, Florida, Florida State among others -- and it has beenquite humbling to see the attention thrown his way.

"I think it all is very cool that coaches are showing interest in me," the four-star prospect said. "I would like to get to know the staffs and schools. I am looking for a school that will help guide me through college. I want to be successful for life after football. This is a very exciting time for me."

One of those schools really hot on his trail in right there in his home state.

"The USC coaches are recruiting me really hard," Green reported. "All the coaches are tweeting me and sending me handwritten notes."

The Trojans are certainly high on his list, but Green insists he is still wide open to schools both near and far.

"Going to a college out of Cali is not a problem," he insisted. "I want the right fit. When I pick a school there will be no second thoughts. At that point I will be done visiting. I just want a place that is like home to me."
