16 TE Marquise Guinn 'Surprised' by U-M Visit

Carthage (Texas) sophomore tight end Marquise Guinn is a player on the rise in the Lone Star state, and recently had a "surprise" visit by the Michigan coaching .

"It was a big surprise when they showed up to my school," Guinn said. "It was nice they showed up. I really don't watch too much of them though. I like their school though."

Now that the Wolverines are showing him interst, Quinn says he is "definitely" interest in a possible visit to Michgan in the near future.

"I would definitely come to Michigan," Guinn exclaimed. "Any chance I can go to any school -- I am going to take it."

Guinn has no offers at the moment, although, he says he is starting to hear from Texas, Arkansas and Texas A&M in the past month. And, he says he will likely be visiting the Longhorns sometime during the summer.

Despite no offers, Guinn says he is looking for a connection with the coaching staff on any campus visit he takes.

"I just want to see what the coaches are like and what the coaches are like," Guinn said on what he is looking for in a program. "I want to see how well I fit in with the team."

At 6-foot-4, 215-pounds, Guinn admits he is more of pass catching tight end and needs to work on his speed this off-season.

"Tight end wise, I am mostly a catching tight end," Guinn said. "I mostly spread out wide. And on third-down packages I will go in power formation."

"I am going to working on mainly my speed. That's my thing right now to get my speed up. I have workouts every week to get my speed up strength wise."

Guinn says he would like to make his final decision during his senior season.
