"He wanted to make sure I had all of his information and that I was for sure going to be able to come up to the camp," Mack said, who stars for Fort Wayne (Ind.) Bishop Lauers. "He also wanted to see if I could come to (Michigan's annual barbecue at the Big House) for some of their elite athletes coming up this summer. It was pretty good visit, we were able to catch up a little bit, too."
Now that he has his camp and barbecue invite, Mack says he's "definitely" planning on attending both events this summer.
"I should definitely be able to come to the camp and especially the barbecue," Mack said. "I definitely don't want to miss that opportunity."
Mack, who was on a campus this winter for a basketball game, says he surprised by the high level of academics at U-M and is looking forward to his next visit so he can see more of what the university has to offer.
"The No. 1 thing is academics, I am very impressed how Michigan is up there with the caliber of Notre Dame and other high academic schools," Mack said on his impression of the Wolverines so far. "It's the Big House. It's a pretty awesome school. I would like to go back and get a deeper feeling of it though.
"I would just like to see the whole campus. Last time I was up there all pretty much saw was the stadium. I didn't even get to see the weight room or anything like that. Really, just would like to see the whole facility. That would really be something to nice to do next time I'm there."
