Perry Hopes to Earn Offer at U-M Camp

Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice 2015 wide receiver Grant Perry talks his Michigan interest, his camp schedule and more.

Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice 2015 wide receiver Grant Perry is intriguing prospect from he Great Lakes' State.

At 5-foot-11, 175-pounds, he displayed good speed, agility and quickness, and always seemed to be in the right place throughout the Midwest Elite 7v7 Passing Tournament this past weekend in Avondale, Mich.

It also helped that his high school teammate and recent Michigan QB commit, Alex Malzone, was throwing him the passes. Their chemistry on the field was evident, with Perry catching some deep throws from Malzone that led to some easy scores.

"It always helps [playing with Malzone]," Perry said. "We do a lot of stuff outside of this, throwing routes, no coaches watching. The chemistry is the biggest part."

Malzone, who committed to U-M earlier this month, is also doing his best to convince the Wolverine coaches that Perry should come to Michigan too.

"I was really happy for him," Perry said on Malzone's commitment to Michigan. "He deserves every bit of it. He's a hard worker. It would be sweet to join him. … He's been throwing in the good word for me. He has been talking to Coach Hecklinski and he wants to come down for a few days to camp."

Perry says he will camp at Michigan with a mindset of proving he can compete with the best.

"I want to go against the top recruits that they have come in," Perry said. "I want to show them I can compete with the them."

Currently, Perry holds offers from Buffalo, Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. He is also planning on attending camps at MSU, Syracuse and Cincinnati this summer.
