Big time offers for Winston

Cassius Winston is attracting major attention on the recruiting trail.

He was arguably the top point guard at the Nike Elite 100, and Cassius Winston is seeing his recruitment heat up in a big way. The Detroit (Mich.) UD Jesuit floor general is taking everything in right now, and showing his combination of talent and basketball IQ.

"I think I have done pretty good," said Winston of his spring and summer. "I am beginning to find my game a little bit more, getting stronger, and just playing better."

Recruiting wise numerous schools are in the mix for him.

"I have been hearing a lot from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Iowa State, Massachusetts, Xavier, and a few other schools," said Winston.

The Michigan Wolverines offered Winston on June 15, and he recently attended their Elite Camp. Winston felt he performed well at the Elite Camp, and says the staff was impressed as well.

"They told me to keep it up and that they like my play and that they are going to continue to recruit me very heavily," said Winston of Michigan.

A school that has long been linked with Winston is Michigan State, and he likes the Spartans quite a bit.

"I like the atmosphere and the toughness of how they play," he explained of MSU. "I think they have a great environment there."

At this point Ohio State has not offered Winston a scholarship, but they have made it clear that they will be watching during the month of July.

"They want me to come in and to make things happen and help them win basketball games," said Winston of the Buckeyes. "They haven't offered me, but they said they will be watching me in July."

For now there is no specific timeframe in place for Winston, but he does know what he will be looking for in a school.

"I am looking for a team that wins and just a school that is the right fit for me," said Winston.
