Robertson takes in Notre Dame

2016 defensive end Auston Robertson of Fort Wayne (Ind.) Wayne provides a recap of Tuesday's visit to Notre Dame.

Accompanying four-star wide receiver Austin Mack on his visit to Notre Dame on Tuesday was fellow Indiana native 2016 defensive end Auston Robertson.

Robertson, though relatively new to the recruiting scene and his position as a defensive end, has potential to rise the ranks as a true national prospect.

"The visit went great," Robertson said. "They showed me a lot of love, and Notre Dame has a great campus. We watched a slideshow when we first got there about the academic stuff and we learned more about the history of Notre Dame."

The 6-foot-5, 234-pound defensive end made the switch to defense about a month ago from wide receiver.

"I'm learning something new at every camp that I go to," Robertson said. "I really like learning from all of the coaches. A couple of the Notre Dame defensive coaches told me they really liked me in pass rush. They said I have quick feet and can do some things on the field that their players aren't even able to do. It's weird because it's all so new to me, I'm still relying on instincts."

Robertson has offers so far from Akron, Indiana and Toledo.

He will head to Ohio State for a second time this summer on July 25 and may also camp with Michigan and Penn State in the future.
