Thomas Excels In Win, Talks Michigan

East St. Louis (Ill.) 2017 WR Jeff Thomas gives his overall thoughts on the Wolverines.

O’FALLON, Ill. -- East St. Louis (Ill.) 2017 wide receiver Jeff Thomas is a rising playmaker in the Midwest and put his talents on display on Saturday, as the Fliers defeated O’Fallon (Ill.) 55-10 in a much needed first win of 2014.

“I had to make plays for my team,” Thomas said. “Cause were 0-3, and we can’t lose no more. So I had to step up big.”

Step up, indeed, Thomas was pivotal in East St. Louis’ attack, scoring on two touchdown receptions, and was used in Flier run game on reverses to get his top end speed in the open field.

“I just want to make plays,” Thomas said of his role. “To put my team on the board early.”

Rated a four-star prospect, Thomas already hold double digit offers from notable programs Florida State, Michigan and Michigan State. While he is far from making a decision, he says the added attention is appreciated.

“It’s good,” Thomas said on schools interest in him. “They can see what I am doing. The hard work I’ve put in. It’s nice though.”

With the Wolverines offering back in February, Thomas admits there are some things he likes about the Maize and Blue, however, he still would like to learn more and possibly visit in the near future.

“I know they got a good offense,” Thomas said of the Wolverines. “I know they got a good campus, I heard anyways.”

As far as what he looking for if he does visit U-M’s campus for a practice.

Thomas explained: “How their game speed setup. And how their offense is built.”
