ANN ARBOR, Mich. – If Michigan is going to have a chance on Saturday versus its in-state rivals Michigan State, the Wolverines will have to put a stop to the Spartans potent offense.

A MSU offense that ranks No. 8 nationally with 525 yards per game, and sores 47.0 points per game, both tops in the Big Ten.

“They’re a very good offense,” Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison said. “They’ve done a good job, first and for most running the football. They’ve got some play makers at wide receiver. They’ve got a very, very good tight end. They’ve got a good offensive line. They’ve done a good job. It’s going to be a very, very good offense to go against.”

Michigan State averages 260.0 yards per game on the ground.

Michigan (3-4, 1-2 Big Ten) plays at No. 8 MSU (6-1, 3-0) this Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
