The news broke in the wee hours of the morning when Clark’s name appeared on the Erie County jail website. The allegation not only mars an otherwise strong and positive senior campaign (42 tackles, 13.5 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks... and eight tackles, 2.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks in his last outing versus Northwestern), it also blemishes an off-field record that has been spotless since the summer before his sophomore campaign.
Two years ago Clark pled guilty to felony second-degree home invasion after stealing a laptop from another student’s dorm room. Since then he has been a model citizen and had ascended to the role of team leader. Now the remainder of his senior career is in serious doubt.
The Michigan football program has yet to offer any comment on Clark’s status.
"We are aware of the report and are gathering more information," a program spokesperson told Detnews.com.
