Beilein's Breakdown - Week 2

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein sat down with Sam Webb on Sports Talk 1050 WTKA this morning to reflect upon his team's season opening victories over Hillsdale and Bucknell and look ahead to Detroit.

Led by Caris LeVert's near triple-double (20 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds), Derrick Walton Jr.'s career-best 22 points and 21 points from Zak Irvin, Michigan fended off a scrappy Hillsdale College squad, 92-68. The game saw 13 Wolverines play including seven freshmen make their collegiate debuts.

In its opening Legends Classic game, Michigan defeated Bucknell, 77-53, after being led by Zak Irvin's team-best and game-high 23 points, while Max Bielfeldt came off the bench for a career-best 18 points, going 7-for-9 from the field and 3-for-3 from long range. Derrick Walton Jr. collected 15 points and a team-best eight rebounds.
