ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Spike Albrecht's three-pointer from the top of the key broke a 63-63 tie with 26.7 seconds left and helped the University of Michigan men's basketball team (No. 17 AP, No. 16 ESPN/USA Today) to a 68-65 victory over Syracuse in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday night (Dec. 2) inside Crisler Center. Albrecht finished with 11 points, a career-high nine assists and zero turnovers on the night.
The Wolverines had five double-figure scorers in the game, led by Irvin with a game-high 18 points. Junior Caris LeVertfinished with 12 points and six assists, while freshman Kameron Chatman posted 10 points and a career-high nine rebounds. Ricky Doyle finished with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, and he went 4-of-5 on free throw attempts.
