Earlier this month Michigan 2016 offensive tackle commit Erik Swenson was thinking of looking at other schools. Well, then U-M shocked the college football world by hiring Harbaugh as its new head football coach.
Now -- his thoughts are all blue.
“I think it’s awesome,” Swenson said, who is rated Scout.com’s No. 9 rated OT. “I think he brings a really good fit to Michigan and I really think he can turn this program around.”
Swenson, who stars for Downers Grove (Ill.) South and is rated a four-star prospect, says he’s “100-percent” committed and never wavered even when other schools approached him on possible visits.
“A lot of teams are trying to get me to [visit],” Swenson said. “But no, I am still 100-percent Michigan. I’m not taking any visits.”
In the meantime, the 6-foot-6, 300-pounder says he plans on getting up to Ann Arbor soon to meet the Harbaugh and his new position coach.
“Probably will go up there eventually,” Swenson said. “When he contacts me I’m going to go up there and see what he says and get to know him and his new staff.”
