Bright Talks Michigan, Potential Visit

Urbandale (Iowa.) 2016 offensive lineman Caleb Bright discusses his interest in Michigan and more.

Urbandale (Iowa.) 2016 offensive lineman Caleb Bright has yet to receive his first offer, but it hasn’t stop top programs from showing the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder some considerable interest.

In fact, he has already been on campus visits to Penn State, Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa. And last week, Michigan reached to gauge his interest in the Wolverines.

“I talked with coach Jay Harbaugh the new tight ends coach,” Bright said. “He said he would review my film and get back to me. They are finishing up the 2015 recruiting class right now. So I am just patiently waiting.

“They have a great tradition I know that. It would be great to play there with a 100,000 fans there every game.”

And if the Wolverines were to offer, Bright admits it would go a long way in his recruitment.

“Well, if it was my first offer it would mean the most to me because they would be the first ones to believe in me,” Bright said. “It would be great.”

Next up for Bright is a possible visit to Michigan, where he can have a chance to meet further with the U-M coaching staff.

“I would love to meet coach [Tim] Drevno,” Bright said. “He was at USC. I know that he knows everything about the offensive line. I would love to have a conversation with him and have him review my film.”

What will he be looking for on his potential visit?

“The family atmosphere for sure,” Bright said. “I want to fit in perfectly, love the coaches, love the strength coach most importantly. Because I will be spending most of my time with him.”

Bright expects to make his decision this fall.

“If I have my favorite offer before December, I plan on graduating early,” Bright said. “I will be making my decision by early to late November.”
