Burgess: Michigan Offer is 'Special'

Tampa (Fla.) Plant sophomore wide receiver Juwan Burgess talks Michigan offer, potential visit and more.

Tampa (Fla.) Plant super sophomore wide receiver Juwan Burgess received a “surprised” offer last week, when Michigan defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin stopped by for in-school visit.

“My head coach introduced me to [Coach Durkin],” Burgess said. “He had seen my highlight and was very interested in me. I received the offer when they stopped by. I was just surprised. I couldn’t believe it. It was a special moment.”

Now that he has his offer from the Wolverines, will Burgess make time to visit Michigan?

“Yes, I would like to visit,” Burgess said. “I would like to see how the environment is there. How the coaching staff is. How strict they are on their school work.”

But admits, he doesn’t know too much about Michigan football program.

“Well, Michigan, I don’t really know much,” Burgess admitted. “I plan on doing my research on Michigan. I kind of like the school.”

At 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, Burgess is already rated a four-star prospect. He currently holds notable offers from Florida State, Clemson and Ohio State to name a few. He has only been on a campus visit to Miami (Fla.), who has also offered. But plans on taking more trips this spring-summer.

In the meantime, Burgess said he’s focused on having a huge junior season this fall.

“My goal individually is to break records. Break records and reset records.”
