Haskins to Take a Look at Michigan, Visit

2016 Potomac (Md.) Bullis four-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. recently earned an offer from Michigan’s new coaching staff. Haskins Jr. discusses the Wolverines, visit plans, Jim Harbaugh and more.

Michigan’s pursuit of a quarterback to kick off the 2016 recruiting class continued recently as Potomac (Md.) Bullis four-star signal caller Dwayne Haskins Jr. picked up an offer from the Wolverines.

Originally offered a scholarship from the previous staff in Ann Arbor, Haskins Jr. says the new staff quickly assured him the same opportunity remains available at Michigan.

“First I talked to Coach (Jed) Fisch and Coach Fisch let me know that I still had an offer to Michigan and that they’re going to recruit me,” Haskin’s Jr. said. “I talked to Coach (Jim) Harbaugh after that too.”

“He seems really cool,” Haskins Jr. added. “I like his personality and he seems very laid back, very interested in me as a person.

“He told me to tell him about myself and he did the same. Some coaches don’t ask too much about things other than football.”

Standing 6-foot-2 and 180-pounds, Haskins Jr. already holds several other offers including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, among others.

For Michigan to put itself back in the fray of Haskins Jr.’s recruitment, the likelihood of a trip to Ann Arbor has increased greatly.

“I’m very interested in Michigan and I’m going to take a look,” Haskins Jr. said. “I think Coach Harbaugh is going to make his mark and I’m confident that they’re going to turn things around.”

“I haven’t figured out what places I want to go visit yet,” Haskins Jr. added. “There’s a couple that I want to but it’s finding the right dates. I obviously want to go visit Michigan.”
