Chambers 'Shocked' By Michigan Offer

Houston (Texas) MacArthur junior defensive end Isaiah Chambers talks Michigan offer, possible visit to Ann Arbor, what he wants to hear from U-M coach Jim Harbaugh and more.

Houston (Texas) MacArthur junior defensive end Isaiah Chambers received a surprise offer last Thursday, when the Michigan staff reached out to the four-star standout.

“It was kind of shocking,” Chambers said. “I had never heard from them. And then they followed me on Twitter. I called the D-line coach [Greg Mattison] and they offered me.”

Adding: “It’s a pretty good school.”

With his U-M offer under his belt, is a visit to Michigan now in the works?

“I haven’t talked about visiting or nothing like that yet,” Chambers said. However, if he did visit, he said he would be looking for certain characteristics in the program. “I’m trying to check out the atmosphere. I want to see how it is and meet the coaches and stuff.”

And during his visit, the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder says he would like to sit down with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh himself.

“I want to see how he is and how honest he is,” Chambers said.” I want to see how down to earth he is with everybody. I want to see if he has a family atmosphere, and see how it is in person myself.”

With offer double digit offers, Chambers admits Baylor, TCU, Ole Miss and Washington are recruiting him the hardest. He has also been on visits to Texas A&M, Baylor and TCU. He is also planning to attend Oklahoma’s junior coming up.
