Stovall Hopes to Hear From Michigan Soon

2016 Lancaster (Calif.) Paraclete four-star running back Melquise Stovall thrives on those doubting him. Stovall discusses his early recruiting process, interest in Michigan, and more.

Undersized but certainly not underutilized, 2016 Lancaster (Calif.) Paraclete four-star running back Melquise Stovall embraces some critics that believe his 5-foot-9, 180-pound frame isn’t ideal for the position at the next level.

“I think that’s why I don’t have as many offers as anyone else cause of my size,” Stovall said. “I just use it to motivate myself.”

Even so, as things currently stand in Stovall’s recruiting, seven scholarship offers are on the table from Boise State, Colorado, California, Miami (Fla.), Washington State, and San Diego State.

Excelling at both running back and wide receiver offensively for Paraclete, Stovall also contributed at cornerback and in the kick/punt return game.

Having previously visited UCLA and California unofficially, Stovall is still in the process of planning trips this spring.

One school Stovall is hoping comes calling for him is the University of Michigan.

“I have not had contact with Michigan,” Stovall said. “They followed me on twitter but I haven’t heard from them.”

“I don’t know too much but it would be a pretty cool offer right there,” added Stovall. “I’d be very interested.”
