Yes, Syracuse, where Wheatley coached the running backs from 2010-12, and so happened to offer the young Hunstersville (N.C.) Southlake running back before Wheatley's eventual landing spot at Michigan.
"He reminded me of it actually on [Monday]," Washington said. "It's just a special thing that he was one of my first offers. He was my first ACC offer. He offered me when he was at Syracuse. Then he followed me soon as he got up at Michigan. It means he really believes in my talents and everything that I stand for."
Where do the Wolverines stand among his final six? Well, he wouldn't say exactly, though he did admit the Wolverines have been coming on strong as of late.
"They really want me, I'm their guy," Washington said. "Coach Wheatley is saying he would 'love' to coach me. He's been wanting to coach for me a long time. And Coach Harbaugh said I'm a 'special' player for him. So that was their message to me.
"My next step after I talked with Coach Harbaugh was he told me to put [Michigan] in my top-six. Michigan is a big school for me. I have always favored Michigan. So it's a big school for me, it's a no brainer to put Michigan in my top six."
Next up for Washington is his commitment announcement set for April 25. And before he makes his final decision, he says his future school must meet his four main factors he is looking for in a program.
"Do I feel at home? Do I have a good relationships with the coaches? Can I push for early playing time? And doe they have a good education?"
Like everyone else, find out on the 25th.
