Michigan Rises Up Elliott’s List

Michigan dropped by Houston (Tex.) Westside to check in on 2016 DT Jordan Elliott recently, and the four-star standout plans to return the favor in the very near future.

After making an abrupt entry into the recruitment of Houston (Tex.) Westside DT Jordan Elliott back in March Michigan has been one of his most persistent suitors.  His school was among the first stops on the Wolverines’ itinerary during the early part evaluation period.

“They came to my school about two weeks ago,” Elliott said.  “It was the defensive coordinator Coach Durkin.  I like him.  I like his energy.  I think he is a good coach.”

That perception of the Wolverines’ defensive coordinator went a long way toward moving them up the talented youngster’s list, but they still trail the team that recently claimed the top spot.

“I’m letting everybody know USC is my leader,” Elliott told USCFootball.com. “They’re my No. 1 right now. I’m still open and not committing anywhere, but they’re my leader.”

“It is my dream school. I just have to get out there and see it in person. I’m working on that right now.”

He is also working on getting out to Michigan. After hearing about his good friend Dontavious Jackson’s experience he is looking forward to seeing Ann Arbor even more.

“He told me he liked it,” said Elliott.  “He said it is a cool place.  I’m definitely going to set that (visit) up. This summer I’m going to make it up there.”

“Michigan is at the top of my list now with USC. Michigan is #2.”

That trip will likely mark the second time this summer that he gets some face-time with the Wolverines’ coaching staff.

Said Elliott, “They told me about (the Houston Aldine “Elite” College Football Camp). I’m going to go.”
