Fitzpatrick Pumps the Brakes

Farmington (Mich.) WR Desmond Fitzpatrick appeared to be on the verge of flipping from Louisville to Michigan until recently. Now the talented youngster plans to take his time before making his final choice.

After getting offered by Michigan and then seeing good friends David Reese and Matt Falcon commit to Michigan last month, it seemed like just a matter of time until Farmington (Mich.) WR Desmond Fitzpatrick joined the Maize & Blue party also. However over the past few weeks that feeling of imminence dissipated.  Despite ongoing interest from the Wolverines the four-star wideout plans on taking his time.

“Really Coach Harbaugh is saying that I am his priority at wide receiver in the 2016 class,” Fitzpatrick said.  “That meant a lot him coming straight from the NFL.  Him thinking that highly of my game is pretty hard to turn down, but really I’m going to play it safe because college is such a big decision.”

At this point Fitzpatrick plans to wait until the fall to reach a final decision.  For word on the criteria that will influence that choice, the reason behind his elongated timeline, the influence of his friends, and more press play below.
