Five-Star SG Talking to Michigan

Saginaw (Mich.) Arthur Hill 2017 SG Brian Bowen updates his recruitment with Michigan.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Five-star 2017 shooting guard Brian Bowen is working hard to showcase his full arsenal of skills.

On Saturday, the 6-foot-7, 170-pounder put them on full display in the Speice Run N' Jam AAU tournament -- specifically his ability to his outside shot.

"I have been working on a lot of pull up shots in practice," Bowen said. " I have been working on shooting out deeper to extend my range out for college and the future in whatever I do."

At his size, Bowen could easily play either guard or forward, he sees himself at one position when he's on the floor.

"In college I want to play at the two position. I want to play shooting guard," Bowen said. "That's really my main spot. I can play the one [point guard] sometimes, too."

Already Bowen holds offers from Michigan State, Boston College, Louisville, NC State, Iowa, Iowa State and Missouri. Michigan is another top program showing interest lately, Bowen says.

"They have been calling me a lot lately," Bowen said of Michigan. "They usually offer by the end of July, right in that area. That's when they officially can talk to us. We'll see what happens around there and see if they'll offer. But they've been in contact with me a lot."

And if Michigan were to offer, Bowen says it would go a long way in his recruitment.

"It would mean a lot," Bowen said of a U-M offer. "It's a great school. A great coaching staff. It would just be a blessing. It would be a great offer."

Bowen has been on Michigan's campus numerous times already, and admits he likes the "atmosphere" of the university. However, he says he would like to see the things differently the next time he visits.

"I want to see how much they've changed over the past year," he said on his next visit. "What they do different than what they did last year. How their guard play is. How Coach Beilein is with his players."

Bowen says he might camp this summer, depending on his AAU summer schedule.
