In fact, since the Wolverines offered the Evanston (Ill.) Township standout earlier this year, both Jones and Michigan assistant Greg Mattison have been in consistent contact, says Jones.
"We're talking on a consistent basis," Jones said of Michigan. "I should be getting down to Michigan soon. Between Both Michigan and Michigan State, I should be getting down to both schools."
And when Jones finally makes up to Michigan, he says he knows exactly what he's looking for during his visit.
"I just want to see the team," Jones said. "Be able to meet some of the coaches. I haven't been able to meet any of the Michigan staff face to face yet. So being able to meet those guys can give me a better fell than on social media -- but a real relationship."
And, of course, meet coach Jim Harbaugh for the first time.
"Definitely he's a big time coach," Jones said of Harbaugh. "Him coming from the highest level, I have heard all these good things about him. I want to be able to see in person. I heard he's a great coach."
Jones also noted that academics will play a major role in his decision process.
"Definitely academics first," Jones said. "Just being able to have a good relationship with the players and coaches. Also, just get a feel for where I feel comfortable."
Jones is still undecided when he want to make his commitment known. He says he is looking at either before or after his senior season.
