Michigan has courted many prospects from the Peach State over the years and plan to continue that trend. One of those talented recruits they have monitored is Atlanta Pace Academy sophomore offensive tackle Andrew Thomas. The 6-foot-4, 288-pound road grader was recently offered by the Wolverines, something he was not expecting.
“My head coach told me about the offer and I was very excited,” Thomas said. “It surprised me. I didn’t even know they were interested. I don’t know much about them, just from watching them play on T.V.”
A big step in order to land the highly touted four-star tackle is getting him up on campus, a step which is currently still up in the air.
“I don’t have a top list yet,” said Thomas. “I’m not sure yet (if I’ll visit Michigan).”
However, Thomas does plan to get to several other spots closer to home soon.
With it starting to heat back up and the summer quickly approaching, many are out working on their game including Thomas this off-season despite the many strengths he possesses within it.
“I use my length and my knowledge of the game to my advantage,” said Thomas. “I try to use as much technique as possible. I still need to work on just being more aggressive and finishing my opponents. We have workouts everyday during the summer, so I’m working (on my game).”
