Michigan Hoping to Turn Black Blue

Michigan recently added its name to the list of programs that have extended offers to 2017 Cheshire (Conn.) Academy WR Tarik Black.

Cheshire (Conn.) Academy sophomore wide receiver Tarik Black is no stranger to the recruiting process.  He has already picked up double-digit offers, including one from Michigan.

“Coach Jay Harbaugh came to watch one of the showcases we have at my school,” Black told Michigan Insider. “I’ve been talking to them for a while and he liked what he saw and offered me. I was really happy/proud and I’m looking forward to taking a trip to Ann Arbor soon.”

“I am just as interested as they are in me,” said Black. “I know they have great academics, fan base and great coaches, which is pretty much what I like about them.”

That affinity, though, is based on what he has seen from afar.  Taking Michigan in in person is now a top priority..

“My recruitment is going pretty well,” said Black. “I have picked up some nice offers lately. I’m currently hearing from Maryland and Michigan the most. I talk to Coach Jay Harbaugh. The staff really likes me and thinks I can fit into what they want to do for the offense. They want me to get up to Ann Arbor soon, so I can take it all in and in person. I will visit probably sometime this summer.”

Aside from that planned trip to Ann Arbor the talented youngster’s summer visit plans are up in the air.

“I’m not attending any college camps this summer,” said Black. “I don’t know where I’m visiting yet. If a West coast school offers, then I’ll probably take a trip out West.”

Black says has no favorites at the moment.
