MACOMB, Mich. -- Sound Mind Sound Body football academy brings in the top prospects from throughout the country. So naturally, Michigan 2016 linebacker commit David Reese wanted to attend to compete with the best of the best.

"I'm just excited to be out here and having a chance to compete," Reese said, who stars for Farmington (Mich.) High.

Reese also noted another camp that is coming up on his schedule this week.

"I'm excited for the Michigan camp coming up on Tuesday," Reese said. "I'm just ready to work."

"I can't wait to workout with Coach Durkin. I want to show him what I can do. I want to show him how I can move. You know, because he's never seen me actually move, move. before they recruited me. I just want to show them what I can do."

Rated the No. 16 ILB in the country, Reese is also a very capable fullback, but says he fully intends on playing defense at Michigan.

"My off season workouts are going great," Reese said. "Linebacker is where my heart is right now. I don't have a problem with playing both positions though."

Reese has also took it upon himself to be a lead recruiter in Michigan's class.

"I'm working on getting Desmond Fitzpatrick, he's right in my back yard," Reese said. "I'm also working on getting Khalid Kareem. And of course I'm close friends with Donnie Corley.

"They all know Michigan is Michigan. They are going to be back. The tradition is great. They are just taking the process kind of slow."
