Michigan Showed Kelly How Much it Cares

The last out-of-state camp stop of Michigan’s satellite tour was Fresno, California for Tony Perry’s DB Guru Camp. Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West LB Caleb Kelly was the top prospect in attendance and one of the top targets on the Wolverines’ 2016 board. The presence of Jim Harbaugh and his entire staff sent the five-star talent a very clear message about how wanted he is in Ann Arbor.

When Caleb Kelly made his way to Michigan a few months ago, one of his biggest takeaways was how comfortable he felt around the coaching staff.

“I think (what stuck out the most was) how laid back Coach Harbaugh was and how all the coaches cared for me like I’m a player over there,” Kelly said.  “I know they’re supposed to because they really want me to go there, but you could tell that they genuinely cared about me.  They were all just coaches that you could hang out with and be yourself with.  They let you be yourself and they were happy with it.  They were always looking for a laugh and being positive.  I just think the coaches were the biggest thing.”

When that same staff traveled out to Fresno last week for Tony Perry’s DB Guru Camp, he found himself feeling much the same way.

Scout.com’s Jackson Moore caught up with the Golden State star afterward to get his thoughts on the camp experience, Jim Harbaugh, the latest in his recruitment, and more.
